Redondo Beach city officials meet local REALTORS® in packed forum

In the latest installment of SBAOR’s popular series, “Breakfast with the Mayor”, REALTORS® in the Beach Cities got a rare opportunity to meet not one but two elected officials from that city.

Just days after local elections in this politically divided city, SBAOR hosted two Redondo Beach city officials: Mayor Bill Brand and newly re-elected City Councilmember Christian Horvath, who is also serving in the rotating role of Mayor Pro Tem. While Mayor Brand was originally slated to be our keynote speaker, a late schedule conflict prevented him from attending. Nonetheless, the Mayor was able to resolve it and join us in the end, as we also confirmed Mayor Pro Tem Horvath.

A standing-room-only crowd listened to both Mayor Brand and Councilmember Horvath talk about their vision for the city. Topics included how to deal with housing, traffic, and what to make of the growing amounts of state legislation coming from Sacramento on local housing needs.

Both Brand and Horvath also addressed some of the more pressing issues unique to Redondo Beach, including the Waterfront project, the AES Power Plant, and the recently approved redevelopment of the South Bay Galleria.

As a part of our extensive calendar of events and classes, SBAOR holds “Breakfast with the Mayor” events several times throughout the year in different South Bay cities. Stay tuned for another event coming soon near you! Watch for coming announcements on “Breakfast with the Mayor of El Segundo” later this spring.
